Through development it became apparent that it was necessary to create a HUD system that was fully customisable by the player. I designed and implemented a system that was flexible and allowed both our designers and the players to create dynamic HUDs for their specific needs. Every HUD in the shipped game was also created with this system. Stephen Fry can explain it better than I so please watch this video for an explanation.
I was primarily responsible for developing the new look of LittleBigPlanet’s iconic “Popit” menu. It was important to stay true to the LBP feel, but give it a twist that makes it feel decidedly our own. Below are a few examples from the brainstorming of looks.
